The intent of this website is to preserve. I travel quite regularly to all parts of Latin America (and to a lesser extent other parts of the world) where rapid growth and commercialization are replacing once traditional means. Massive grocery store chains are taking the place of small markets that source their meats and produce direct from local farmers and ranchers. As highways expand deeper and deeper into the most remote parts of the region, they are carrying an unstoppable mainstream culture that will eventually devour everything in its path. Unless some sort of conservation effort is made. While I do write and shoot for magazines and newspapers around the world, there are so many other recipes, restaurants, markets, chefs, shops, and foodie-insider things to share that have no place. New World Review attempts to help create awareness for these traditions and to highlight the important aspects of what’s new.
